Hello! My name is Erin. I’m a former television producer and current digital content manager in the suburbs outside of Chicago. My journey through journalism took many twists and turns, but I want to get back to my roots of writing. Putting pen to paper, or in this case, fingertips to keyboard. I am a big sports fan and traveler, but most of all, I enjoy eating delicious desserts and reading almost anything.
In book terms, I am a part of Generation Harry Potter. My third grade teacher read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone during story time, and I devoured the last book over one weekend at summer camp when I was seventeen. Now, no genre is off limits, from Russian literature to comedian autobiographies to dystopian young adult fiction.
My start in the kitchen was rocky to say the least. Long-story-short, my six-year-old self mixed up flour with powdered sugar and ended up with boiled, hardened sugar caking my muffin pan, but I have come a long way since then. By my junior year in college, my S’mores Bar recipe was the talk of sorority recruitment, which is a huge achievement, in my mind.
On this blog, you will get a healthy dose of dessert recipes and maybe a few easy dinner recipes (my rule of thumb for meals is no more than five ingredients). You will also get a rundown on my reading list. If you have any suggestions for my next treat or read to try, don’t hesitate to let me know!
